Guidance for exports: Declaring VATZ commodity additional code

VATZ must be omitted from Data Element 6/17 at any and every item level on export declarations departing via inventory linked locations.

If an issue has already been encountered with a MUCR becoming ‘stuck’ not receiving any status update following arrival (because the declaration contains VATZ in Data Element 6/17) you should:

• Amend any and all declarations to remove VATZ from every item level DE 6/17
• This should trigger an inventory status update (EMR) response
• Check the inventory system, if a status update has not been received you may need to contact the carrier to ask for the MUCR to be re-arrived.
