Celebrating the introduction of electronic fallback
CCS-UK - the community system controlling the vast majority of the UK's airfreight imports and exports - held an event on 29 June at the BT Tower to celebrate implementation of an automated fallback system in the event of a customs system failure.
ASM are the forwarder representative on the CCS-UK Cargo Commnity User Group. Alongside representatives for the Transit Shed operators and airlines, we work closely with BT to improve the system and add value for the airfreight community as a whole.
ASM and the CCS-UK User Group have been working on the design and development of an automated fallback system for a number of years now and finally this has received the seal of approval from customs.
The fallback system will allow imports and export goods to continue to flow seamlessly in the event of a failure of CHIEF.
